Who we are
We believe food is more than fuel, it’s care, community and balance. We created the café after living with type 2 diabetes ourselves and experiencing firsthand how difficult it is to find meals that are both nourishing, convenient and truly enjoyable. Diabetics are generally not in the hearts of restaurants when they create their menus. We’ve all felt that. How often have we had someone offer a “sugar free” option without realizing for diabetics food choices are not just about eliminating sugar. Too often “diabetic friendly” means bland, chemical engineered or restrictive. We want to change that.
Our menu is built around fresh, wholesome ingredients, prepared with flavour and creativity in mind. Every dish from our Munchables and Wrapables to Crunchables, Slurpables and Sipables is crafted to support stable blood sugar while still delivering comfort, joy and that sense of treat we all crave. We don’t believe in compromise: food should make you feel good, body and mind. Food should be inclusive and here it is.
Located in Six Nations, Skû Náh Café is rooted in the values of peace, wellness, and community. Our name, Skû Náh, means “peace/of peace” in Skarù-rę, a reflection of our goal to bring that peace back to eating. Those of us with diabetes remember the confusion, stress and even fear diagnosis brought, here you can rest easy, stop calculating, stop counting, and just eat. Whether you’re managing diabetes, supporting a loved one, or simply seeking healthier options, our doors are open and our table is always set.
